What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain Veneers? are ultra-thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the
front surface of your teeth. Made from either porcelain, veneers are bonded directly to your natural teeth to correct a range of aesthetic concerns — while maintaining the function and strength of your existing enamel.

Because veneers are so versatile, they’re often the go-to solution for
patients seeking a complete smile makeover. At Horizon Dental, we offer
expertly crafted veneers that enhance your appearance and support your
overall smile goals — all in just a few appointments.

The Horizon Dental Veneer Journey
Your smile,
step by step.
01
Initial Consultation & Digital Smile Design

We begin with a comprehensive assessment, including high-
resolution photos and a digital scan of your teeth. Using advanced software, we’ll simulate your potential results and discuss your goals, preferences, and lifestyle factors.

This is your opportunity to ask questions, explore both porcelain and composite options, and understand exactly what your treatment will involve — with no pressure to proceed.

This appointment includes

Approximately 45 minutes

02
Temporary Smile Mock-Up ("Test Drive")

Once we’ve finalised your design, we create a temporary mock-up that allows you to “test drive” your new smile. You’ll be able to see and feel what your new teeth will look like — giving you the chance to make any changes before committing to the final veneers.

This step ensures you feel 100% confident moving forward. Most patients are genuinely surprised by how natural and beautiful the results look even at this stage.

Your porcelain veneers are crafted by a local master dental technician, ensuring a

Are veneers permanent?

Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent treatment because a small amount of enamel is typically removed during preparation — this means your teeth will always require some form of restoration. Composite veneers are more reversible. With proper care, veneers can last many years, though they may eventually need to be replaced.

Absolutely. Our porcelain veneers are crafted by a local master dental technician to closely mimic the translucency and light-reflecting properties of natural tooth enamel. We also carefully match colour, shape, and size to your existing teeth and facial features — so the result looks seamlessly natural.

Veneers are low-maintenance — simply maintain good oral hygiene with twice-daily brushing, regular flossing, and six-monthly check-ups. We recommend using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. If you grind your teeth, a custom nightguard is strongly recommended to protect your veneers.

Veneers cannot be whitened with traditional whitening products or laser whitening — they retain their original colour. This is why we recommend whitening your natural teeth first (if desired) before choosing the shade for your veneers, so everything can be matched at your preferred brightness.
Most adults with healthy teeth and gums are suitable candidates. However, veneers may not be appropriate if you have significant decay, active gum disease, severely worn enamel, or heavy teeth grinding habits that aren’t being managed. We’ll assess your suitability thoroughly at your initial consultation.
Dental implants are an excellent solution for most patients with missing teeth, provided there is adequate bone density and good overall oral health. A thorough consultation including X-rays and assessment is required to determine your suitability. We will discuss all available options and associated costs transparently.

The veneer placement process is generally well-tolerated. Local anaesthetic is used during the tooth preparation phase, so you shouldn’t feel any discomfort during the procedure. Some patients experience mild sensitivity in the days following treatment — this is normal and typically resolves quickly.

Individual veneers are priced at $1,700 per tooth. We offer all-inclusive packages — an 8-veneer package from $9,700 and a 10-veneer package from $10,700 — both including a comprehensive examination, bespoke porcelain veneers, and a custom nightguard. Flexible payment options including Zip Pay are available. See our pricing page for full details.
