At Horizon Dental, clinical technology is not an afterthought — it is a cornerstone of how we practise. From 3D imaging to same-day CEREC restorations, every piece of equipment we invest in is chosen for one reason: better results for you.
We believe that investing in advanced clinical technology is one of the most meaningful ways we can serve our patients. More precise imaging leads to more accurate diagnoses. Faster fabrication means fewer appointments. Digital workflows reduce human error and produce better-fitting restorations. Every piece of technology at Horizon Dental exists to make your care safer, more comfortable, and more effective.

Same-Day Restorations.
CEREC allows us to design, mill, and fit a ceramic crown, inlay, onlay, or veneer in a single appointment. Using our digital intraoral scanner, we take a precise 3D scan of your tooth — no messy impressions. The CEREC software designs the restoration and our in-clinic milling unit fabricates it from a solid ceramic block in under an hour. You leave with a permanent, tooth-coloured restoration the same day.
Previously this process required two appointments, a temporary crown, and a wait of 1–2 weeks for a lab. CEREC eliminates all of that. The result is a restoration that fits precisely, looks completely natural, and requires no follow-up fitting appointment.
- Single-appointment crown — design, mill and fit in one visit, no temporaries
- No impressions — digital scanning replaces uncomfortable putty moulds entirely
- Premium ceramic material — shade-matched to your existing teeth for natural results
- Precision fit — computer-designed and milled to micron-level accuracy
Cone Beam Imaging.
Conventional dental x-rays produce flat, two-dimensional images. Our 3D CBCT (cone
beam computed tomography) scanner produces a full three-dimensional volume of
your jaw, teeth, sinuses, and surrounding bone — giving our clinicians an
unprecedented level of diagnostic detail that simply isn’t possible with traditional
imaging.
CBCT is particularly critical for dental implant planning, where we need to assess bone
density, bone volume, and the precise position of nerves and sinuses before placing any
implant. It is also invaluable for diagnosing hidden pathology, planning orthodontic
treatment, and evaluating wisdom teeth before extraction.
- Implant planning precision — assess bone quality, quantity and nerve proximity in 3D
- Hidden pathology detection — identify problems invisible to conventional x-rays
- Safe & low radiation — CBCT uses a fraction of the radiation of a medical CT scan
- Surgical guide fabrication — 3D scan data used to plan and fabricate guided implant surgery
Digital Scanner.
Our digital intraoral scanner replaces traditional putty impressions entirely. A small,
hand-held wand is gently passed over your teeth and gums, capturing thousands of
images per second to construct a precise, full-colour 3D model of your mouth within
minutes. There is no gagging, no mess, and no wait.
The digital scan is immediately available for the clinician to review, measure, and
annotate — and is sent directly to our CEREC milling unit for same-day restorations, or
to our dental laboratory for crown, bridge, and Invisalign fabrication. The accuracy of a
digital scan consistently exceeds that of a traditional impression.
- No impression material — eliminates the discomfort and gag reflex associated with putty
- Superior accuracy — digital scans are measurably more precise than physical impressions
- Instant visualisation — see your 3D tooth model on screen in real time during your appointment
- Direct CEREC integration — scan data feeds directly into same-day restoration workflow
& OPG System.
Our fully digital x-ray system produces instant, high-resolution images at a fraction of the radiation dose of conventional film x-rays. Digital sensors capture images immediately — no chemical processing, no waiting — and the images can be enlarged, enhanced, and annotated on screen for a clear patient explanation of findings.
Our OPG (orthopantomogram) unit produces a single panoramic image of the entire
jaw, all teeth, and surrounding structures — invaluable for assessing wisdom teeth,
planning implants, diagnosing jaw conditions, and gaining a complete overview of your
oral health before treatment planning.
- 90% less radiation — digital sensors use significantly less radiation than traditional x-ray film
- Instant results — images appear on screen immediately, no development wait
- Enhanced diagnostics — digital images can be magnified and colour-enhanced for better diagnosis
- Full jaw panoramic view — OPG captures all teeth and jaw structures in a single image
systems.
- Nitrous oxide sedation — fast-acting, reversible happy gas for anxious patients and longer procedures
- Needle-free jet injection — topical anaesthetic delivered without traditional needle discomfort
- Ceiling TV & headphones — stream your favourite show with noise-cancelling audio during treatment
- Intraoral camera — see before-and-after photos of your own teeth taken chairside
Better care.
CEREC same-day restorations and digital scanning eliminate the need for multiple visits. What previously required two or three appointments can now be completed in one — saving your time without compromising quality.
3D CBCT imaging and digital sensors reveal details that conventional x-rays cannot. Problems are identified earlier, plans are made more precisely, and treatment outcomes improve as a direct result of more complete diagnostic information.
Digital impressions eliminate putty moulds. Nitrous oxide manages anxiety. Needle-free injection reduces discomfort. Ceiling-mounted TVs with headphones turn treatment time into something you might almost
enjoy.
Computer-designed restorations fit with micron-level precision. Better-fitting crowns and restorations seat more accurately, adapt better at the margins, and last significantly longer than those produced through traditional methods.
With intraoral cameras, 3D scans, and on-screen imagery, you see exactly what we see. Every finding is shown to you directly. You are never asked to simply take our word for it — the evidence is visible on screen.
Digital x-rays use up to 90% less radiation than film. CBCT imaging allows us to identify and avoid critical structures before surgery. Technology at Horizon Dental actively reduces clinical risk at every stage of
your care.
